Banana and Peach Smoothie

Peach Smoothie

You could also call this a peach and banana milkshake but I love the way smooooothie rolls off the tongue of my two year old.

We made this the other night and every night since I have been getting requests. It’s super easy!

Ingredients:

Vanilla Ice cream

Milk

Frozen Peaches

Bananas

Cinnamon and Nutmeg (optional)

How much of each you put in depends on which flavor you want to dominate! I love how banana balances the peaches and I loved the cinnamon and nutmeg. Though put just a pinch of nutmeg. A little goes a long ways.

As for the consistency, I like it frothy and smooth whereas my husband loves it really thick! He was searching for molasses in the cupboards insisting it would taste good! I hurried and poured it saying we didn’t have any. Which we didn’t. So I didn’t feel too bad.

What do you think? Should I have put molasses in my smoothie/milkshake?

What’s your family’s favorite flavor?

Hmmmm… all this ice cream talk- I’m off to fix me some!

    Hi Dr. Cason,

This sound yummy. Peaches aren’t in season for us yet, but when we can get them, I’ll give this recipe a try.

Molasses? I don’t think that would taste good, plus it would add a lot of sweetness.

My favorite smoothie is berry. My husband loves chocolate. But my favorite ice cream is coffee flavor.

    That sounds YUMMY!!!

    Molasses? Um, no.

I like to make a strawberry banana smoothie with orange juice. Yum!

Mmm Barbara, what about chocolate and coffee. Barefoot Contessa swears by this combo!

    Guinevere-

I love OJ with smoothies as well. Wow such combos yet to introduce to my kids. BTW- Guinevere is one of my favorite names. So classy and lovely.

This sounds delicious! I think I’ll try this one afternoon while I’m relaxing on the deck and reading a good book. I’m going to leave out the molasses, I think it may be too sweet. Thanks for sharing! Oh, I’m going to pass your recipe to my daughter. She loves smoothies too.

In NO WAY does molasses sound appealing. I think it would dominate the delicate flavors of the fruits.

Just found your site today after going to PW’s site. I adore PW and since I don’t have a computer at home, can only visit the site while at work. I definitely will come back to visit your site.

Rhonda- How did I miss you? And….??? Did you get that smoothie made and relax with your book?

Susan- Totally agree with the molasses! Eww! Love PW as well! I’d love to be a fly on the wall and see how she manages it all! :) Please please come back!! :)
